CoverGirl Natural Luxe Review, Pictures/Swatches

Hello lovelies!

Just recently i was able to finally try the new Cover Girls NatureLuxe foundation and lip balm. I received both the foundation and the lip balm for review consideration from BzzAgent, and needless to say, i was way too happy, as i had been wating these since they came out, but was actually waiting to use up some of my many foundations i have piled up =)  Let's take a look!

My shade is in Flax (for reference, i wear NC15-20).  Lip balm in Peony

Foundation only.  Very lovely coverage!

foundation after a long, long sunday.  This was about 8hrs after i first applied it.

Lip Balm in Peony

Here is what CoverGirl Claims:
Redefine natural beauty with our lightweight silk foundation. With a touch of cucumber water and a hint of jojoba and rose hip extracts, our light yet luxurious formula takes heavy weight out of your polished finish. Plus, we're so sure you'll love NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, that if you're not satisfied with the results, we'll refund your money.

My opinion:
I must admit i was impressed with this foundation.  I was not expecting much coverage, as mant CG foundations hardl ever cover anything on my face, however, this one did more than that.  It does live up to its name "Silk" because it applies very, very smooth. I honestly dod not use concealer, so that is a plus.

I must mention though, that this foundation does have a light scent.  it is not overpowering at all, but for those who are sensitive or dislike a fragance in a foundation beware, you should test it at the store before buying (iv have seen testers redily available at Target and Walmart).

A nother thing i want to point out is how my skin reacted to it.  I have acne prone, sensitive-ish, oily skin.  This foundation did not irritate it or broke me out at all, however, i did notice a slightly higher than normal oil production all over my face, not just T-zone, despite my silica gel primer, and silica powder, which was a little disappointing to me.

This foundaiton wears well and to those with less oily skin, this is a must try!!!  I would recommend this to everyone, but not so much to those eho are very oily.   I think dry skin types would benefit the most, since it has jojoba oil, which is an intense moisturizer.

On with my favorite part of this post:  The Lip Balm!

Here i have both the foundation and the lip balm.

The Claims:
Get the sheer color and shine of a gloss with the soft, lightweight feel of SPF 15 balm. Fortified with mango and shea butter, this feel-good formula leaves your lips feeling decadent and delicious.

What i think:

I love, adore this lipgloss. It is not a balm lol but a sheer-ish lipcolor!? I have not tried all the other shades yet, but the reviews on the CG website are mixed.  Supposedly, the ones that are glittery/sparkly are not recommended.  Well i lucked out.  Peony is a matte cherry red and omg it feels like a lipbalm, lasts long (seriously) and my lips are so soft!!!! I have been wearing this daily, and the best part is that this particular shade can go on sheer or look like an actual lipstic, sans the heaviness, stickiness, tackiness, etc.

Overall i am happy that i got to try one of the best drugstore brands. I am impressed with the quality, CG has been stepping up its game!  As far as the lip balm goes, i will be purchasing more shades, but not the glittery ones lol.....these are great to tote along and have a quick hint of color on the run!  Anf the oundation, you may wonder? Well, i like it, i didnt breakout anf its a keeper, but for me, i shall only use it during Winter or any days where i will not be out too much...the heat here in AZ is definitely not makeup friendly, and this would slide off my face!!!!

  1. I'm not a regular foundation wearer but this one is so lightweight, it feels like you have nothing on your face! And I think the balm is amazingly moisturizing x
